Toss the Shot List

Magical Moments

Shot lists can be distracting and cause the photographer to miss important details. Some shots that you might see on Pinterest are unexpected moments. Make your own memories and let it happen naturally. Let the photographer capture the spontaneity of the wedding day!

Uneasy

It can be an awkward situation if people feel uncomfortable with something in the shot list. They will appear stiff and miss out on a candid moment. Make sure that you are comfortable with the photographer so they will be able to capture your personality. They will ask you some questions before the wedding event to get to know you better and create a fabulous memory you’ll remember forever. This will minimize the stress of having to feel like you need to follow the list.

Trust the Photographer’s Expertise

Wedding photographers already know what photos to take and have been in the business for some time. They will be quick to include every detail from the centerpieces to the expression of the groom when the bride walks the aisle. It allows them to be more creative!

Not Guaranteed

Some shots on the list can’t be done depending on circumstances. The weather can be a factor of not being able to make a specific shot happen. Let them take charge and everything can run smoothly.

Don’t Replicate

You have probably scrolled through Pinterest to create the perfect board that envisions your wedding. If you try to recreate the shot list, it can get overwhelming. Everybody’s style for a wedding will be different. It would be time consuming trying to repeat and shoot the same pose from the image. Only use the photos for inspiration!

Communication is Key

Before you hire a photographer, make sure they reflect your personality and style. Ask them questions to know if they are the right fit for you. The communication between you and the photographer are essential to discuss the aspects of the wedding that are important. Knowing that they understand your concerns, personality, and style will make the process easy on your end.
