Don’t want to spend money on a wedding album? Going to try and DIY it? This blog is perfect for you then. What you are about to read is all about wedding albums and why you should spend the money to get it professionally done by your photographer. It is something you don’t want messed up or to fall apart in a few years.
The Difference Between a Wedding Album and a Guestbook
If you don’t know the difference between a guestbook and a wedding album then here is the rundown. A guestbook is a photo album full of your engagement pictures designed for your guests to sign when they come to your wedding and leave their congrats and best wishes! A wedding album is made for you and your other half to look back on in years to come and relive your big day. It shows your wedding day from a perspective you didn’t see it in and captures every special moment!
Parent Albums
Not only was it a big day for you, but for your parents as well! These make a great gift! I personally gave mine to my parents & my husbands parents at Christmas and they loved it!!
Beautiful Layouts Customized to What You Like
Whenever we make an album we design everything for you and send you the proof of what your album will look like. You can make changes and take out spreads with pictures you don’t want. It is very customizable so you will love it even more!
Size Matters
There are three sizes (8×8, 10×10, & 12×12) you can get your wedding album in, but you don’t want too small or too big, right? Our most popular size album & guestbook is a 10×10 because it is the perfect size for showing off the beauty of the images and it fits on a bookshelf or coffee table! However, if you really want to showcase your album & keep it out for people to see when they come to your house, there’s always the 12×12, which is such a stunner. The 8×8 is more for parent albums, as they probably aren’t going to be showing it off as much as you, but some parents do & they get a bigger size!
Cover Options
Each album & guestbook come with an included cover, but you can always upgrade if there’s one you like better! There are many different options for covers, but the ones I offer are leather (standard, distressed, pearlescent, & etched), linen, metallic, and image. Each of these have different looks but are all beautiful. You can also add a cameo, which is a cut out with your image(s) placed underneath. This option only comes with the Album.
Debossing
What is debossing? Debossing is like a stamp on the cover of the album that has you and your love’s name on it. While it doesn’t seem that big of a deal and unnecessary, it is like the cover of a book, it makes a bigger statement than just having a plain cover. Would you want to pick up a book that had absolutely nothing on the front stating what it was? Probably not. It just makes it looks more appealing. So, there are several options when it comes to debossing: text & color (or no color, blind). Some love to incorporate their wedding colors into the cover, which makes it more you!
Quality of an Album
Your wedding album is not just an heirloom but a piece of art. You get what you pay for! DIYing your own wedding album is fun and all but it will never look as beautiful if a professional were to do it. The pages in our albums are thick so they won’t bend easily or tear. It is professionally printed so the colors will not fade and the pages will not deteriorate. The images are also seamless so they are sleek and beautiful. We won’t give you anything but our best so you will have an album that will last through generations. I have been to one of the world’s largest expos for photographers and have searched for the best albums and love what we use.
We hope this blog informed you about the importance of having a professional wedding album done. We promise you will love it for many years!
