Skye and David’s Engagement Session | Pine Creek Cookhouse | Aspen, Colorado

Aspen engagement photography at Pine Creek Cookhouse creates magical moments, and that’s exactly what happened during Skye and David’s session. As neighbors who shared casual hellos that blossomed into something extraordinary, their recent engagement session at Pine Creek Cookhouse in Aspen perfectly captured their adventurous spirits and deep connection.

From Neighbors to Soulmates

Like many great love stories, theirs began unexpectedly. Though they lived next door to each other for three years as just friends, it was David’s dog who first captured Skye’s heart. Their shared pool days and casual cocktails gradually developed into a deeper friendship, until something clicked 1.5 years ago that changed everything.

Despite their East Coast origins – Skye from the bustling streets of NYC and David from his own corner of the Atlantic seaboard – Colorado proved to be where their hearts truly aligned. David’s childhood memories of skiing at Pine Creek and August visits to Aspen made this location especially meaningful for their engagement portraits [Discover more engagement sessions here].

The couple’s love for Denver shines through in their daily life. You might spot them walking to their favorite spot, Mud Brothers Bar on 15th & Platte, or cheering on the Broncos at a local game. Their decision to become a one-car household speaks volumes about their shared values and connection to their urban lifestyle.

David chose an unforgettable setting to pop the question – a romantic rooftop near San Marco Square in Venice, Italy. Surrounded by family, with the stunning cityscape as their backdrop, he surprised Skye during what she thought was a casual cocktail hour. Her father’s candid “oh shit” reaction, caught on video, added a perfect touch of humor to this beautiful moment.

Capturing their Love Story

Having recently captured their engagement portraits at Pine Creek Cookhouse, I’m thrilled to be part of their continuing journey. Their upcoming wedding celebration promises to be as unique and special as their love story.

From their serendipitous beginning as neighbors to their upcoming wedding day, Skye and David’s story reminds us that sometimes the greatest adventures begin right at our doorstep. Their engagement session beautifully captured not just their love, but the essence of who they are – both as individuals and as a couple who found their home in Colorado’s mountains.
