Some love stories begin with a splash – quite literally in Michael and Kennedy’s case! Their journey started at a TCU pool party during their junior year, where an easy conversation sparked a connection that would lead them to this perfect moment at Basalt River Park. 

When Michael and Kennedy first met at that college pool party, they had no idea they were meeting their future spouse. The ease of their first conversation set the tone for their entire relationship – comfortable, natural, and full of genuine connection. Michael recalls being immediately struck by Kennedy’s beauty, but it was her ability to make him feel completely at ease that truly captured his heart.

What makes their relationship special is the way Kennedy creates a space of complete comfort and unconditional love. As Michael puts it, “She makes me feel very loved every single day.” It’s those daily moments of connection that built their foundation for forever.

The Journey to “Yes”

After graduation, life took Michael to Chicago, but his heart remained in Texas with Kennedy. When he moved back to Texas in 2023, he knew with certainty that she was the one he wanted to spend his life with. The decision to propose wasn’t just about timing – it was about finding the perfect way to surprise the woman who had captured his heart at that pool party years ago.

A Surprise by the River

Choosing Basalt River Park for the proposal created the perfect backdrop for their next chapter. While Kennedy had seen sketches of her ring, the final design – like the proposal itself – was a beautiful surprise. Against the peaceful flow of the river and the natural beauty of the park, Michael asked the question that would change their lives forever.
