Ashley & Natasha’s Aspen Proposal + Off-Road Adventure
Ashley and Natasha’s Aspen proposal was filled with love, scenic mountain views, and a little spontaneity that made the day unforgettable.
When Ashley called with last-minute plans, we jumped on the phone right away to make it happen. The plan was set — a romantic mountain proposal followed by portraits in some of Aspen’s most stunning locations.
The Proposal in the Fireweed Fields
We started on the backside of the mountain, heading up Midnight Mine Road, a route known for its sweeping alpine scenery. The weather had a mind of its own that day. In just ten minutes, we saw wind, rain, and even hail.
Once the skies cleared, we arrived at a vibrant field of fireweed flowers. Their bold fuchsia blooms were the perfect backdrop. There, surrounded by mountain peaks, Ashley asked Natasha the question she had been waiting to ask. The moment was joyful, emotional, and unforgettable.
Beautiful Portraits at “Top of the World”
After the big moment, we drove up to what we call “the top of the world”, one of Aspen’s most spectacular viewpoints. The mountains stretched endlessly in every direction, and the soft sunset glow was pure magic.
The rain made a brief encore, but that only added to the romance. Umbrellas came out, laughter echoed across the ridge, and we captured some of my favorite portraits of the day.
Adding the Off-Road Experience
Ashley and Natasha decided to add on one of my favorite offerings, the Aspen Off-Road Experience.
This is an optional adventure I offer for couples, families, and even groups of friends who want to turn their session into a full experience. We explore scenic trails that can’t be reached by regular vehicles, stop at hidden overlooks, and sometimes find wildflower meadows or tucked-away creeks perfect for candid, relaxed photos.
For Ashley and Natasha, it was the perfect way to celebrate — a mix of exploring, soaking in the scenery, and just enjoying each other without the rush of the proposal timeline.
Their Love Story
Ashley and Natasha’s story began at work. Ashley was in corporate at Pvolve in Chicago, while Natasha worked in the studio. A few casual visits to the studio soon turned into intentional trips — Ashley had developed a crush and wanted an excuse to see Natasha more.
What started as friendship quickly grew into something more. Ashley describes Natasha as the first person who has ever made her feel truly herself. Natasha’s outgoing personality brought Ashley out of her shell, and when Natasha met Ashley’s family, she fit right in. It wasn’t long before Ashley knew she wanted to marry her.
The engagement ring began as a surprise, but Ashley eventually brought Natasha into the design process so she’d get exactly what she wanted.
Ashley and Natasha’s Aspen proposal was a perfect blend of romance and adventure. From wildflower fields to panoramic mountaintop views and an unforgettable off-road ride — the day was a true reflection of their adventurous spirits.
If you’re dreaming of your own proposal or just want to turn your photo session into an experience, the Aspen Off-Road Adventure is the perfect add-on for breathtaking views and unique memories.
