Franklin Family Portraits at Ashcroft, Aspen

The Franklin Family Portraits at Ashcroft, Aspen were full of laughter, connection, and mountain beauty. This big, joyful family brought so much warmth to one of Aspen’s most stunning portrait locations.

A Family Tradition in Aspen

Aubra and Susan Franklin, along with their children — Brittany, Brianna, Brett, and Brooke — have been visiting Aspen for years. Now, their family has grown to include sons-in-law, plus two adorable granddaughters. Each visit to Aspen holds special meaning for them, and this session was the perfect way to capture their growing family surrounded by Colorado’s mountain charm.

The Location: Ashcroft

Ashcroft, located just outside Aspen, is one of the most breathtaking places for portraits. The historic ghost town, rustic cabins, and wide meadows offer endless natural beauty.

In the evening, the mountains glow in soft golden light, creating the perfect backdrop for timeless family photos. You can explore more about this stunning historic site on the Aspen History Society website.

Capturing the Franklin Family

We began with full-family portraits, where laughter came easily, the kind that only happens when everyone’s together again. Then, we moved into smaller groups, photographing each couple and family unit individually.

Brianna and JP with their daughter, Brittany and Brian with their daughter too, and Brooke and Josh all brought their own energy and joy. The kids kept us smiling the whole time. Every frame captured the Franklin family’s bond — natural, happy, and full of love.

A Joyful Aspen Session

What made this Ashcroft family portrait session so memorable was how genuine it felt. The Franklins embraced every moment, from the quiet in-between shots to the giggles during group photos.

The mountains, the light, and their love all came together beautifully creating portraits that truly tell their story.

A Family to Remember

Thank you so much again, Franklin Family, for gathering your wonderful family and allowing me to capture this special time in your lives. Seeing your family grow and laugh together in such a beautiful setting was an absolute honor.

If you’re planning your own Aspen family portraits, Ashcroft is the perfect mix of history, charm, and mountain beauty. Learn more about my family portrait sessions or contact me to start planning yours today.
