Anniversary Portraits at Paepcke Park: Rain, Romance, and Shadow Mountain

A Whimsical Celebration in the Heart of Aspen

Sometimes, the most memorable mountain moments are the ones you didn’t plan for. For Shea and Duck, their anniversary portraits at paepcke park became a beautiful testament to their “go with the flow” energy. When the clouds rolled in and it started to rain, we didn’t let it dampen the mood. I lent them a clear umbrella, and the results were absolutely magical—proving that a little weather only adds to the romance of the mountains.

Choosing Anniversary Portraits at Paepcke Park and Shadow Mountain

Our session started by parking at the historic Paepcke Park, a location that offers a classic Aspen feel with its iconic gazebo. We captured a few charming aspen downtown shots as we walked through the streets before heading up to the 1A lift area at the base of Shadow Mountain. Choosing anniversary portraits at paepcke park as our home base allowed us to blend the upscale vibe of town with the rugged, natural beauty of the mountain slopes.

From South Korea to the Arizona Desert

Shea and Duck’s journey began thousands of miles away in South Korea, where they both lived from 2018 to 2021. After meeting on a dating app and casually seeing each other abroad, their relationship became “official” in 2021 when they both moved back to the USA and coincidentally ended up in Arizona. They are both high-energy people who love the outdoors, and that shared passion is what truly brought them together.

A Connection That Just Clicks

When asked when they knew they wanted to marry, the answer was simple: when they started living together. Life became immensely more fun, and everything clicked into place naturally. To celebrate that bond, they designed an engagement ring together that features both of their birthstones on the band—a beautiful symbol of their two lives joining as one.

Capturing Anniversary Portraits at Paepcke Park

Documenting Shea and Duck during their anniversary portraits at paepcke park and up at the 1A lift was such a joy. Their energy is infectious, and the way they laughed through the rain made every frame feel authentic. Thank you for trusting me to capture this milestone!
