We were lucky enough to be there and capture every sweet moment as Blake, from Arlington, had a big plan. He asked Kailey, his amazing girlfriend from Frontenac, Kansas, to marry him. This is truly the story of Blake and Kailey’s proposal at Bella Donna Chapel.

Their Love Story Begins in Dental School

Their story started back in dental school. Can you believe they’re both dentists? They were in the same class of 2024 and became the best of friends right away. For two whole years, they were pretty much inseparable. Then, in their third year, something special happened – they fell in love! Talking to them, you can just feel how happy they are together.

The Perfect Proposal at Golden Hour

Blake knew he wanted to make his proposal unforgettable. He chose the perfect spot, Bella Donna Chapel, and timed it just right for that magical golden hour when the light is soft and warm. We were so excited to be a part of his plan!

Right around 6:30 in the evening, with the beautiful chapel as their backdrop, Blake got down on one knee, and Kailey said the most wonderful word: “Yes!” The joy in that moment was something truly special to witness.

After the big moment, Blake and Kailey were all smiles as we took more pictures outside. The soft light of the evening made them look even more radiant and in love. You could just see how comfortable and happy they are when they’re together.

As the sun started to set a little more, we moved inside Bella Donna Chapel. The inside is so peaceful and elegant, making it another perfect spot to capture some more intimate and sweet photos of the newly engaged couple.

The fun didn’t end at the chapel! Around 7:30 pm, they headed off to another place to keep celebrating. We finished up our picture-taking around 8 pm, feeling so happy for Blake and Kailey and the beautiful memories we captured for them.

Getting to know Blake and Kailey a little better through their answers to our questions was so lovely. They first met at a happy hour before dental school even started! They found out they lived in the same apartment building, and a group of them would always study together. That’s where Blake and Kailey realized they had the same sense of humor and just clicked. Blake even said it was a relief to find someone so easy to get along with. Kailey felt the same way, and they both felt a sense of comfort with each other, which was really important during the stressful time of dental school.

When we asked Blake what makes Kailey so special, he said, “Everything!” He loves her unique hobbies like doing puzzles, crafting, baking (which he says she’s really good at!), and even wanting to get into quilting. He also mentioned her love for her many plants. He joked that she and her friends have “70-year-old women hobbies,” but he absolutely loves that about her. What’s also really special is that they both feel the same way about taking care of their patients in their dental practice. Blake sees how much her patients love her and knows she truly cares about them.

The moment Blake knew he wanted to marry Kailey was like all their experiences together just clicked. Getting through a tough program, passing their exams, moving a few times without any big fights – all of it showed them how strong their relationship was. They started thinking about the future in a way they never had before, and it felt exciting, not scary. They both knew that what they had was different from any relationship they had in the past.

And the ring? They picked it out together! They went to a jeweler, and Kailey was able to share all the little details that were important to her.
