Brad and Anna’s Proposal | Iron Bridge at John Denver Sanctuary
As a photographer, I get to witness some truly magical moments, but Brad and Anna’s proposal in John Denver Sanctuary was one for the books! Their story is a testament to love, patience, and a little bit of playful mischief.
From Summer Camp to Forever: Their Story Begins
Let’s rewind a bit. Brad and Anna’s journey began at a summer camp in Maine, where they were both college students. Anna was from the University of Miami, and Brad was from the University of Dayton. Even though they were from neighboring schools, their paths crossed in the most unexpected place.
“We had an instant connection with the way we both saw the world,” Brad told me. “Galavanting around camp, I saw her caring, light-hearted nature which always had a story to tell and an open invitation to a ‘beyond-the-surface’ conversation. She had the kindest, most enthralling eyes I’ve ever encountered.”
Anna’s unique ability to find magic in everyday moments is something Brad truly admires. “Anna personifies everyday encounters more than anyone I’ve ever known. This speaks to her deep level of empathy and compassionate nature,” he shared.
The Moment He Knew: A Cincinnati Revelation
Their relationship wasn’t always smooth sailing, but they remained a constant in each other’s lives. It wasn’t until a memorable evening in Cincinnati in 2020 that Brad knew Anna was the one. “We had an evening out visiting the aquarium, wine and dining, and being a bit mischievous,” he recalled. “She had a stunning yellow dress on, and I for one, couldn’t resist.”
Fast forward to 2022, and their paths aligned once again in Denver. They knew then that they were ready to build a life together.
When it came to the engagement ring, Brad and Anna went shopping together in June 2024. “She went back and forth on several styles, but kept going back to the classic solitaire look,” Brad said. When he returned to the jeweler alone, he found the perfect ring, a classic solitaire that had just arrived.
A Surprise Switch: From Steamboat to Aspen
Now, for the proposal! Brad had planned an elaborate surprise. Anna thought they were heading to Steamboat Springs after a stop in Silverthorne, but Brad had a different plan. “By the way, we’re going to Aspen instead,” he announced, completely surprising Anna. A little initial confusion turned into excitement as they headed to Aspen.
A Snowy Sanctuary: The Proposal
He took her for a walk through John Denver’s sanctuary, timing it perfectly for the proposal. The snowy backdrop added to the romantic atmosphere, and it was truly a magical moment.
After the proposal and our photoshoot, the surprises continued! Brad took Anna to Kemo Sabe to buy hats together, a fun and memorable experience.
But the surprises didn’t stop there. Brad had arranged for friends and family from Cincinnati and Indianapolis to meet them in Breckenridge! They arrived to find a feast waiting for them, a celebration filled with love and joy.
A Lifetime of Happiness: Congratulations!
It was an honor to capture this special moment for Brad and Anna. Their love story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the best things in life are worth waiting for. Congratulations, Brad and Anna! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together.
