Emilio & Valeria: From Dinner Date to Mountain Proposal

Emilio and Valeria’s story is a bit of a “we’ve known each other forever, but…” kind of thing. They have a ton of mutual friends, so they’d been acquaintances for ages. But it wasn’t until Emilio came back to visit Austin (where Valeria lives) that things really clicked. He saw her at a dinner party, felt some serious chemistry, and made sure they hung out again before he left. That date was epic. They only planned on dinner, but ended up out all night! Emilio went back home but couldn’t stop thinking about her. He kept flying back to Austin (a 15-hour flight!), which is some serious dedication. Finally, he realized that if he wanted to give this relationship a real shot, he had to be near her. So, he packed up and moved back to Austin in November. He says it’s the best decision he’s ever made.

First Impressions

Emilio’s first impression of Valeria was that she was incredibly smart and funny, but also a bit reserved. Turns out, she’s not actually reserved, just really picky about who she lets into her inner circle.

Emilio says Valeria is incredibly caring, especially about the people she’s close to. He admires how selective she is with her friendships and how deeply she cares for those she lets in. He also loves how driven she is and how she goes after what she wants. Plus, she’s thoughtful and adventurous. Always up for something new!

He knew he wanted to marry Valeria when he realized he was willing to move continents just to be with her. He had a good job and plans where he was living, but being so far from her felt unbearable. He knew she was the most important thing in his life. Jobs are replaceable, but a connection like that isn’t.

The Ring (Surprise!)

Emilio picked out the ring himself. They’d talked about designs she liked, but he wanted the actual proposal to be a total surprise. He worked hard to make sure she didn’t suspect a thing, especially on this trip to Aspen!

He chose  Mollie Gibson Park in Aspen for the proposal. It’s a beautiful spot with amazing views. And guess what? This trip to Aspen was Valeria’s first time ever seeing snow and skiing! Talk about a memorable trip! He got everything set up perfectly, and then… well, you’ll have to check out the photos to see the rest! Congrats to Emilio and Valeria! What a sweet story!
