We recently had the joy of photographing Morgan and Clay’s maternity portraits at a truly beautiful spot: Heather Lane in Aspen. This wonderful Dallas couple is expecting their first child, a baby boy, and their session was just perfect, filled with love and that gorgeous mountain light.

A Dallas Couple, An Aspen Connection

Morgan and Clay are a fantastic duo, both making their lives in Dallas. Morgan works as a lawyer, and Clay is a commercial real estate agent. While Dallas is home, Aspen holds a very special place in their hearts, especially for Clay, making this maternity session even more unique.

A Sentimental Field with Aspen Mountain Views

The location for Morgan and Clay’s maternity session, Heather Lane in Aspen, wasn’t just chosen for its beauty – it’s a place rich with family history! Clay’s grandparents owned a house right behind this very park, near the Aspen Chapel, which has a big field with amazing mountain views. Clay grew up visiting them there. His grandparents bought the house back in the 80s, and now his aunt and uncle live in the remodeled home, keeping that special family connection alive. This deep, personal history made their Aspen maternity photos incredibly meaningful.

We were so lucky with the weather and the light that day! We actually pushed the shoot back by 30 minutes because of afternoon rain, and it worked out perfectly. The skies cleared, and the setting sun gave us that dreamy, soft glow against the mountains. It truly was a perfect backdrop for capturing this special time.

Celebrating Their First Little Mountain Man

Morgan and Clay just celebrated their first wedding anniversary, and now they’re getting ready for another incredible milestone: becoming parents! Morgan looked absolutely radiant, about six or seven months along, glowing with excitement for their baby boy’s arrival. You could just feel the anticipation and love between them. Capturing these beautiful moments before their family grows was such an honor.
