Mary Joy & Derek’s engagements in Deep Ellum turned out so cute! We started at Emporium Pie (and of course, had pie), worked our way through some Dallas murals, then went to Barcadia because they love to play video games with each other! We had so much fun working our way through Dallas enjoying great conversation.
After photos, we ended the night at Pie Tap in Lower Greenville for some awesome pizza together. Mid-way through the photos, you’ll notice them holding Wall-e & Eva Pop figures – they incorporated these into their photos (and soon the wedding) because Wall-e was one of their first dates together! These two have been together since 2008 and are now engaged! Mary Joy and I have been friends since we were kids in ’96 and I am so excited and happy for these two to finally be tying the knot! These two met through mutual friends at church when we were back in youth group! I love those sweet “since childhood” stories!
Derek proposed on Mary Joy’s birthday while her and her family were out eating dinner at Benihana, one of MJ’s favorite restaurants! They were inseparable during this shoot and I have loved getting to photograph these engagements for such special people that mean so much to me! I love shooting in Deep Ellum and the weather was absolutely beautiful for an engagement!
Mary Joy & Derek, Thank you so very much for having me be apart of this amazing time in both of your lives! I am so excited for you both and honored that you are having me not only IN your wedding, but capturing it for you look back on for many years to come! Can’t wait for the wedding in November! You two are so perfect together and I hope you love your engagement blog as much as I have loved getting to photograph you two and spend this time with y’all. Cheers!
