Wedding at Aspen Art Museum: Chrissie and Byron’s Creative Celebration
Chrissie and Byron’s wedding at the Aspen Art Museum was creative, joyful, and full of personality. Their celebration blended modern design, mountain energy, and meaningful moments with the people they love most. Every part of the weekend felt intentional, starting with a fun welcome party and ending with an incredible night of celebration. If you are looking for a venue that combines culture with scenery, this museum is a top-tier choice.
How They Met
Chrissie and Byron met on December 18th, 2017, during Chrissie’s first day working at The Baccarat Hotel in New York City. Byron was the new chef, busy and focused in the kitchen. A few days later, Chrissie stopped by looking for a snack and complimented his tattoos. Byron asked if she needed anything. When she said no, he told her to get out of his kitchen. It was direct, funny, and very Byron.
About a week later, Byron found hotel stationery and wrote a simple note asking if she wanted to grab drinks. That note started everything.
The Proposal
Byron proposed on April 1st, which made the surprise even better. Early that morning, he woke Chrissie and told her he had run her a bath. While she relaxed, he got ready in ski clothes. When she came out in her robe, she found him on one knee with a box of donuts. On top was a pink sprinkle donut holding an engagement ring.
They spent the rest of the day skiing and celebrating with friends and family, followed by a party later that night. It was playful, thoughtful, and completely them.
A Fun Welcome Party at Tipsy Trout
Before the wedding day, Chrissie and Byron kicked off the weekend with a lively welcome party at Tipsy Trout. The night was relaxed and full of laughter. Guests mingled, shared drinks, and set the tone for the days ahead. It was the perfect way to bring everyone together before the ceremony.
The Wedding Day at Aspen Art Museum
Chrissie and Byron exchanged vows at the Aspen Art Museum, a modern and striking venue in the heart of Aspen. The clean lines, natural light, and contemporary architecture created a unique setting that matched their style perfectly.
The ceremony felt intimate and emotional, surrounded by art, mountains, and loved ones. The museum offered a beautiful contrast between modern design and the warmth of their connection.
After the ceremony, we explored the area around the Aspen Art Museum and nearby downtown streets for portraits. The mix of architecture, mountain views, and city energy gave their photos a timeless and artistic feel.
The Reception at Free Range Kitchen
The celebration continued at Free Range Kitchen in Basalt. The space felt warm and welcoming, perfect for an evening of great food, heartfelt toasts, and dancing. As the night unfolded, the energy stayed high and joyful. From dinner to dancing, every moment reflected Chrissie and Byron’s love for gathering people and celebrating fully.
A Celebration Full of Heart
Chrissie and Byron’s wedding weekend was thoughtful, fun, and full of personality. From their welcome party at Tipsy Trout to their ceremony at the Aspen Art Museum and reception at Free Range Kitchen, every moment felt true to who they are.
