Jason & Kristell’s Proposal | Aspen Mountain – Aspen, Colorado

I recently had the privilege of photographing Jason & Kristell’s absolutely stunning surprise proposal at Aspen Mountain during their annual New Year’s Eve fireworks event. With a dazzling fireworks display set against the backdrop of Aspen Mountain, this proposal was truly epic!

A Night of Brilliance: A Breathtaking New Year’s Eve Proposal

Amidst the vibrant festivities of Aspen’s New Year’s Eve Celebration, love stole the spotlight as Jason’s carefully planned surprise proposal came to fruition. It was a moment that I can say with great certainty, Jason and Kristell won’t soon forget. 

Though the couple currently calls Chicago home, Aspen held a special place in Jason’s heart, having spent numerous holiday seasons here as a DJ. With an invitation to host a celebration at Casa Tua in downtown Aspen after the fireworks, Jason seized the opportunity to create a series of adventures for Kristell, culminating in the grand finale—a surprise proposal.

As I prepared to capture the moment, serendipity led me to a charming couple who graciously played along as my test subjects during equipment setup. It was during this moment that Jason and Kristell walked by, right on cue. I invited them to join the impromptu photoshoot next posing as a local photographer looking to get some shots of the event. It was then that Jason, got down on one knee and asked the big question. With a radiant smile, Kristell said yes.

Our photographic journey continued against the enchanting display of fireworks, and we strolled to The Little Nell, where, by the pool, they enjoyed a complimentary glass of champagne. The night concluded with a photo session in front of The Little Nell’s holiday displays and lights—a perfect ending to a story that began with fireworks and unfolded into a celebration of love and new beginnings.
