Taryn & Michael’s Engagement Session | Aspen, Colorado

Planning your perfect engagement session in Aspen Colorado? As a photographer, I get to witness some truly beautiful moments, and Taryn and Michael’s engagement session in Downtown Aspen was absolutely one for the books. Imagine a perfect day, the kind where the sun shines just right, and the air is crisp and clean. That’s exactly what we had for this amazing shoot.

Starting at the Top: The Gondola View

As a photographer, I get to witness some truly beautiful moments, and Taryn and Michael’s engagement session in Downtown Aspen was absolutely one for the books. Imagine a perfect day, the kind where the sun shines just right, and the air is crisp and clean. That’s exactly what we had for this amazing shoot.

We kicked things off at the iconic Aspen gondola. The views from up there are just breathtaking, and it set the perfect tone for our adventure. Taryn and Michael were so relaxed and happy, and it was clear from the start how much they adore each other. We captured some beautiful, natural shots with the stunning mountain backdrop. It’s always a great way to start an engagement session – getting those sweeping, scenic images that really show off the location.

A Stroll Through Aspen’s Charming Streets

The real highlight of this session, as you know, was our stroll through downtown Aspen. This isn’t just any downtown; it’s filled with quaint shops, charming streets, and a unique, upscale vibe. We walked and talked, stopping whenever something caught our eye. It felt less like a photoshoot and more like a fun afternoon outing with friends.

Taryn and Michael were so easy to work with. They were completely themselves, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. That’s what I always tell my couples: relax and have fun! Your engagement photos should be a reflection of your personality and your love story. And these two? They nailed it.

Outfit Changes and Movie Magic

One of the things that made this session so special was Taryn’s incredible sense of style. She had three stunning outfits, each perfectly suited for the Aspen setting. It honestly felt like we were filming a movie! Each outfit change brought a different vibe, and we were able to capture a variety of looks, from casual and cute to elegant and sophisticated.

This is a great tip for anyone planning their engagement photos: consider multiple outfits. It adds variety to your images and gives you a chance to showcase different sides of your personality.

Wagner Park and Smoky’s Zoomies

Our walk took us through Wagner Park, a lovely green space right in the heart of Aspen. And guess who joined us? Smoky, Taryn and Michael’s adorable dog! Bringing your pet to your engagement session adds a whole new level of fun and personality. Smoky was a star, and we got some fantastic shots of him running around and having a blast. Those “zoomies” were priceless!

If you have a pet, definitely consider including them in your photos. They’re a part of your family, and it makes the session even more personal and memorable.

Champagne Celebrations at Hotel Jerome

To cap off our amazing session, we headed to the Hotel Jerome balcony for a champagne toast. The Hotel Jerome is a historic and luxurious spot, and the balcony offered a beautiful setting for some celebratory photos. We popped the champagne, and the laughter and joy were contagious. These moments are what it’s all about – capturing genuine happiness and love.

The champagne toast was the perfect way to end our 3+ hour adventure. It felt like we had truly captured the essence of Taryn and Michael’s relationship: fun, loving, and full of life.

Tips for Your Own Engagement Session

If you’re planning your own engagement photos, here are a few takeaways from Taryn and Michael’s session:

  • Be Yourself: The most important thing is to relax and be yourselves. Let your personality shine through.
  • Location, Location, Location: Choose a location that has meaning to you or that you find beautiful. Downtown Aspen was perfect for Taryn and Michael.
  • Multiple Outfits: Consider bringing a few different outfits to add variety to your photos.
  • Bring Your Pet: If you have a pet, include them! It adds a fun and personal touch.
  • Have Fun: Engagement sessions should be enjoyable. Don’t be afraid to laugh, be silly, and have a good time.

A Love Story in Pictures

Taryn and Michael’s engagement session was a true walk through Aspen, filled with love, laughter, and beautiful moments. I’m so grateful to have been a part of their story, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.
