Family Session in Aspen: A Multigenerational Gathering

A Mountain Milestone at the Base of the Peaks

Gathering multiple generations of family in the mountains creates an incredible backdrop for lasting memories. As a long-time Dallas client, this sweet family has trusted me to document their journey through every chapter. Having captured their proposal, past family portraits, and seasonal mini sessions back in Dallas, coming together for a family session in Aspen felt like an extra special celebration. Meeting near the base of the mountain provided sweeping alpine scenery and lush greenery that brought everyone together.

Planning a Family Session in Aspen

Choosing a family session in Aspen gives large groups plenty of space to interact naturally. Nestled right near the base of the mountain, this location offers manicured lawns, tall pine trees, and rustic paths. Consequently, the setting allowed us to move smoothly between full group portraits, smaller family branches, and sweet individual moments.

Welcoming a New Baby and Celebrating Love

This multigenerational session was extra special because it featured a precious newborn baby, proud parents, and doting grandparents. We captured tender swaddled newborn portraits alongside cheerful photos of the young kids playing on the grass.

Moreover, taking time for couple portraits amidst the wider group shots added great variety to their gallery. Having documented their original proposal in Dallas years ago, photographing their growing family in Colorado was a full-circle moment.

Timeless Memories at the Base of the Mountain

The soft afternoon light filtered through the evergreen trees, creating flattering tones across the entire gallery. Combining structured family poses with candid moments ensured the shoot felt like a relaxed outing in the crisp mountain air.

Additionally, documenting these milestones at the base of the peak gave them heirlooms they will cherish for years. If you want to see more mountain family stories, feel free to explore my Aspen family photography gallery.
