West and Alexandra’s Engagement Party | Aspen Meadows Resort
In the picturesque Aspen Meadows, West and Alexandra celebrated their engagement with a joyous party. Moreover, as their photographer, I was thrilled to capture the warmth and excitement of this special day, while learning about their unique proposal story.
The party was more than just an announcement of their engagement; it was a beautiful merging of families. Siblings met for the first time, creating an atmosphere filled with new connections and shared happiness. The air buzzed with laughter and animated conversations as guests mingled, sharing stories and toasting to the happy couple.
A Tale of Snowy Surprise
As the evening progressed, West shared their enchanting proposal story, which had taken place earlier in the winter amidst Aspen Highlands’ snowy peaks. His original plan didn’t work out as expected. Sensing that Alex might have caught on, he delayed his first proposal attempt.
Several days before the proposal, with their buddy, Peter, they were all hanging out with him the day before the 2nd plan to propose on “The Bowl” and West had already enlisted Peter’s help to capture the big moment, planning to pop the question on Aspen Highlands’ Bowl. In a twist of fate, Alexandra innocently suggested Peter join them for their bowl hike the next day, unknowingly inviting the secret photographer along.
As they ascended the Highland Bowl, Alexandra began to notice Peter’s unusually photo-heavy behavior. “Is he always like this? He seems like he’s taking way more photos than normal.” she whispered to West, who played along and said “I don’t think so bla bla bla…” trying to maintain the surprise. Little did Alexandra know, her suspicions were about to be confirmed in the most romantic way possible.
At the summit of Highland Bowl, with Aspen’s breathtaking landscape sprawling before them, West seized his moment. As Peter’s camera clicked away, West asked Alexandra to be his wife. Alexandra’s face clearly showed her surprise and joy.
As they skied down the bowl as an engaged couple, the pieces started falling into place for Alexandra. The excessive photo-taking, West’s nervous energy – it all made sense now. The couple couldn’t help but laugh at how Alexandra’s suspicions had actually made the surprise even more special.
Celebrating Love at the Meadows
The proposal story brought smiles and laughter, capturing the couple’s adventurous spirit. Alexandra, a successful residential realtor in Aspen, and West, an entrepreneur involved in a startup focused on acquiring businesses in foundation repair, complement each other beautifully. Their diverse professional backgrounds mirror the varied guest list, creating a rich tapestry of relationships and stories.
As the evening progressed, I had the pleasure of capturing candid moments of joy, tender exchanges between the couple, and the genuine warmth of family and friends coming together. The Meadows provided a stunning backdrop, its natural beauty enhancing every photo and adding to the magical atmosphere of the celebration.
Being invited to be part of the party, not just as a photographer but as a guest, was truly heartwarming. It allowed me to capture intimate moments and genuine emotions that might otherwise have been missed. From the heartfelt toasts to the spontaneous bursts of laughter, every image tells a story of love, family, and new beginnings.
A New Chapter Begins
West and Alexandra’s engagement party was a beautiful prelude to their journey together. It was an honor to document this chapter of their love story, preserving memories that they’ll cherish for years to come. As they move forward in planning their wedding in the Bahamas, the love and support surrounding them were clear to see, promising a bright and joyous future ahead.
Their story, from a ski-surprise proposal to this warm gathering of loved ones, embodies the spirit of Aspen – adventurous, beautiful, and full of unexpected joys.
