For Lee and Will, planning an engagement session at Ashcroft was a joyful celebration of a love story that started years ago. Nestled in Castle Creek Valley, the open meadows and historic ghost town scenery provided a gorgeous backdrop that matched their playful energy

Choosing an engagement session at Ashcroft offers couples a timeless alpine setting filled with rustic mountain charm. Located just outside of Aspen, Ashcroft features historic wooden structures, dramatic mountain peaks, and quiet valley paths. Consequently, the vast landscape allowed Lee and Will to relax, explore, and simply focus on having fun together in front of the camera.

From High School Sweethearts to Birmingham

Lee and Will knew of each other growing up, but their friendship truly bloomed later in high school. They started dating during Lee’s senior year and navigated long-distance throughout college without ever looking back.

Moreover, they always knew making it work was the only option because their bond was so strong. When Will moved to Birmingham, Alabama after college to be in the same city again, their conversations turned naturally toward marriage and their shared future.

An Antique Surprise and Candid Fun

Lee loved how fun Will was right from the start, appreciating how easily people gravitate toward his kind, outgoing nature. When searching for the ring, Lee wanted an antique piece but eventually handed the task over to Will.

He found the absolute perfect antique ring through a jeweler and sent her a sneak peek video. However, Lee did not see the real ring in person until the day he proposed, making it a wonderful surprise.

Capturing a Playful and Genuine Connection

The main goal for their photos was to keep the atmosphere playful, candid, and full of laughter. As we walked through the valley during their engagement session at Ashcroft, Will happily went along with every idea, showing off the sweet dynamic that Lee loves most about him.

Additionally, the soft mountain light created a warm glow across every frame as they shared genuine smiles and quiet embraces.
