Idaho Family Portraits for the Bergemann Family! Aka my cousins!

Seth (dad) is my cousin through my grandma’s side of the family. The crazy thing is that we hadn’t seen each other in over 20 years! The last time we were all together was the last big family reunion in Dodge City, Kansas, where my great-great-grandfather was sheriff. It’s so sweet to see how much can change in a beautiful way in twenty years.

I went up to see the Bergemann family with my dad and cousin “Little Bobby” as Aunt Helen referred to him. We traveled from Colorado to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming, to Twin Falls, Idaho, to Nampa where they live. We spent time with Seth’s parents & grandma (my great-aunt) who will be turning 100 years old next month! I loved getting to see her and the rest of her family again after so much time. I hope to see them again MUCH sooner than twenty years later.

This family is so kind – Rick and Rita welcomed us into their home for a cookout the day we arrived, then the next day we went to Seth & Rachelle’s for breakfast and it was so lovely. We took these right by their house in Nampa. The perfect backdrop for photos + what I envisioned Idaho to be more like. However, it’s entirely different in the mountains. We went up to their family cabin and enjoyed the pine trees, the river, and the 4-wheelers. It was perfect.

We ended the trip by going through Montana to get to Yellowstone (pictures coming later), and then staying by Wind River Reservation on a tipi! It was such a fun way to end the trip. Overall, we had a blast, saw beautiful parts of the country, and loved getting to catch up with such a hospitable family. I loved taking their photos for them so Rachelle could update her Facebook profile picture and photos on the wall. 😉 Also, I don’t think I’ve photographed an all red-headed family before and I loved it!!
