Aspen Food & Wine weekend is known for unforgettable culinary experiences, but one event offered something entirely different. Smuggler Social brought guests high above downtown Aspen for an evening that blended mountain views, incredible food, handcrafted cocktails, live music, and Aspen history into one unforgettable celebration.

Hosted at the historic Smuggler Mine, the event invited guests to experience one of Aspen’s most iconic settings while enjoying the electric atmosphere that makes Food & Wine weekend so special.

A Unique Food & Wine Experience

Unlike a traditional tasting event, Smuggler Social was designed to be exactly what its name suggests: a social gathering. Guests enjoyed curated cocktails, an elevated surf-and-turf dining experience, live music, and exclusive tours through the historic Smuggler Mine while watching the sunset over Aspen. Every ticket also supported the Aspen Environment Foundation, helping protect and preserve the region’s natural beauty.

The combination of history, incredible cuisine, and panoramic mountain views created an atmosphere that felt uniquely Aspen.

One of my favorite things about photographing events like Smuggler Social is documenting the moments guests don’t always realize are happening. Conversations over cocktails. Laughter between friends. Golden-hour light spilling across the mountains. Live music bringing everyone together.

Those candid moments tell the story of the evening far better than any posed photograph ever could.

As the sun dipped behind the Elk Mountains, the celebration continued with incredible energy, making Smuggler Social one of the standout experiences of Aspen Food & Wine weekend.
